Our Mission
Believe In What’s Possible is a nonpartisan youth-led and youth-centered nonprofit working to reveal, center, and support youth leadership in Minnesota’s political processes.
Our Vision
Believe In What’s Possible aims to increase youth civic awareness and engagement in MN primary and municipal elections through celebratory events-based organizing and education - thereby transforming MN’s political math. We seek to inspire all youth, particularly BIPOC and unhoused youth, to participate in politics on their terms. When we’re done, voting (and other forms of political action) will be as exciting as getting your driver’s license, buying your first lottery ticket, or turning twenty-one!
Theory of Change
Limited resources, demotivating messaging, and traditional engagement tactics have left our generation disenchanted by party politics. BIWP envisions a future where young voices are valued and included at all levels of government, organizing, and campaigning.
To achieve this, we facilitate youth-centered conversations, build multi-generational networks, and invest in our base's development and action. By increasing youth participation in political systems - not to reinforce them but to claim their power for our communities - BIWP aims to transform who has political power and expand political belonging in MN.
Our Generation
Gen Z has demanded transformational change on social issues, including climate change, gun control, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA+ equality, racial justice, healthcare, and more. However, current politics rarely engages our generation in ways that are empowering, sustainable, and solutions-focused. Believe In What’s Possible will show political leaders that they can only run, win, and govern effectively when they engage, employ, and advocate alongside our generation.
